After a major health crisis, Ms. Funk made an adjustment to all of the aspects of her life.

Tara Funk—a mother, wife, daughter and sister—has a passion for learning and language that has inspired her 20-year career in education, literacy and curriculum development. After earning a degree in psychology, she taught in south-central Los Angeles as a member of Teach for America.
