Fostering Authenticity

Last week I posted the following quote to my Facebook page:

"Authenticity: Knowing who you are and being brave enough to live it."

What I love about this quote is that it is about owning who you are. It is about being authentic, which requires you to be vulnerable, transparent and to have integrity.

I have always been that person who wears her heart on her sleeve. With me, what you see is what you get.

I speak my mind and I speak from my heart. I will not sugar coat things. Nobody wins that way. I do not use industry jargon or big words - mostly because I don’t have an impressive vocabulary (the SAT’s were not my thing).

When I speak, I speak with passion and conviction - not just about my kids and my life, but about what I do.

I do what I love and I love what I do. It’s not bullshit and it’s not a cliche. I have woken up happy and excited about my business since the day I realized that this is what I am meant to be doing. When I meet with a new client, they feel my energy and my excitement and in turn, they want to feel the same way about what they are doing.

Authenticity not only makes people want to work with you, it makes them want to be around you. You are real. You are yourself. You live your truth. When you are authentic, you have no competition.

I spend a lot of time on social media and I see so many videos and posts about people selling themselves as “coaches”. I see posts about how to grow my business to seven figures with just “ONE Simple Step” or these “Three GREAT TOOLS” or this incredible “Secret Formula” that will turn my business around immediately.

I am so tired of the bullshit that goes on in the coaching industry and that is me telling you how I really feel. There are so many scams out there and people encouraging you to sign up for their amazing webinar only to make you click through 10 pages of offers before you get to your destination. How many times have you sat through 45 minutes of a webinar without hearing a single helpful piece of information? THERE IS NO AUTHENTICITY IN THAT. It lacks a level of professionalism and humanity, and it is beyond annoying.

I don’t call myself a coach and I don’t try to sell anyone on something that does not deliver on my promise. I am a Fosterer. A supporter. A connector. I give my honest opinion based on my own experience as an entrepreneur and business owner for 14 years. I connect people that I think are truly amazing to other amazing people that share the same values as me -- integrity, authenticity and transparency.

That is what Foster Inc. is all about. If you’re tired of the same old bullshit sales ploys all over social media and you want to work with smart, driven, authentic and inspirational women, check out my upcoming events and join us. We’d love to have you. Call me - I will pick up the phone. Email me - I will respond - hayley@fostering101.com - or sign up for my mailing list.
